Product Information

These simple fireworks mines can be made in minutes, and fired within an hour or two. This is the perfect kit to use to start to understand fireworks making. They're very safe and quiet.

Fireworks mines are a type of fireworks that explode flaming balls, fuse, stars, comets, or inserts up from the ground into the sky. Vs. aerial shells which are fireworks which are first launched into the sky and then explode.

You get all the parts needed to make 10 Flying Fish Mines except for the lift charge. You supply the black powder (or a substitute) lifting charge and some glue. Everything else you need is included in the kit.

Each kit contains:
- Gold Flying Fish Fuse, 32 feet (#GN1020)
- Green Flying Fish Fuse, 32 feet (#GN1030)
- #0 Mortar Tubes, 10 (#TU2053)
- #0 Plastic Mortar Bases, 10 (#PL3001)

For the lift powder to propel the flying fish fuse out of your mine, use any grade of black powder. If you don't have any, this is one of the rare situations where you can use smokeless powder or black powder substitutes (easy to find in guns stores).

Or you can make your own hand-mixed, "green" powder using potassium nitrate, sulfur, and charcoal.
