Chunky firework chemicals
From time to time, you can get lumpy, chunky firework chemicals from Skylighter and elsewhere at bargain prices. The catch is, of course, that you have to convert these firework chemicals to fine powder before you can use them.
Long-term, no self-respecting pyro should be without a good ball mill. But if you don't have one yet, or if you just want to grind small amounts of firework chemicals, go down to your local Wal-Mart for a great, cheap pyro firework chemical mill. Look in the cooking wares section for a coffee and spice mill. I bought three of them for around $12 bucks each. I have dedicated one for oxidizers, one for fuels, and one for everything else. If you shake them while you hold the button down, you can grind up just about anything in 30 seconds or less to a nice, fine powder consistency. The only way to clean them that I have found is with a dry brush. At the risk of belaboring the obvious, you should only mill individual firework chemicals this way.
DO NOT MILL MIXED COMPOSITIONS USING THIS DEVICE UNLESS YOU WANT IT TO BE YOUR LAST TIME.
