This kit contains all the chemicals you need to make 2.5 lbs. of red sparklers using a strontium-nitrate-based composition.
Each kit contains:
- Strontium Nitrate, 1 pound (#CH5543)
- Steel, 1 pound (#CH8300)
- Flake Aluminum, -325 mesh, 8 oz. (#CH0174)
- Airfloat Charcoal, 1 pound (#CH8068)
- Boric Acid, 1 pound (#CH8042)
- Dextrin, 2 oz. (#CH8107)
You'll need a screen to thoroughly mix your dry chemicals. You'll find a 20 mesh framed screen does it more quickly than finer ones. You can add one to your order if you need it.
Although the project describes using steel wires, you can also use bamboo skewers used for grilling.
