Blue Sparkler Kit – Quick Start Guide

Create Brilliant Blue Sparklers with Silver Spark Effects


⚠️ Safety First:

  • Always wear goggles, gloves, dust mask, and cotton clothing.

  • Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated, spark-free area.

  • Keep fire extinguisher or water nearby.

  • Only mix small batches.

  • Follow all local laws and never leave materials unattended.


🔧 What You’ll Need (Not Included):

  • Sparkler wires or bamboo sticks

  • Plastic mixing bowl and spoon

  • Measuring scale (accurate to 0.1g)

  • Mesh screen (40–60 mesh)

  • Distilled water

  • Drying tray or parchment paper

  • Spray bottle (optional)


🔬 Sparkler Composition Formula (100g Batch):

Chemical Amount
Potassium Nitrate 40g
Copper Carbonate 10g
Charcoal (Airfloat) 10g
Sulfur 5g
Dextrin 5g
Magnalium (fine) 30g

Do not screen magnalium – stir it in last.


🧉 Mixing Instructions:

  1. Weigh each chemical separately.

  2. Screen all dry ingredients (except magnalium) into a bowl.

  3. Add magnalium and stir gently.

  4. Slowly add water until the mix feels like damp clay.

  5. Roll or press onto wires or sticks (about 2–4 inches long).

  6. Let sparklers air dry for 3–7 days. Turn them daily.

  7. Do not use heat to dry.


🎇 How to Use:

  • Light with a butane torch or electric match.

  • Use outdoors only, at a safe distance.

  • Expect blue flame with silver-white sparks.


📦 Storage & Disposal:

  • Store unused chemicals in sealed, labeled containers.

  • Keep in a cool, dry place, away from heat and flame.

  • Dispose of unused or damaged materials safely and legally.
